Dog servicesin Grapevine, TX

Grapevine, TX keeps its house rules simple. The police department's local animal laws page allows a maximum of four dogs and cats per household in any combination, and your dog must be vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian and wear its tag at all times. Texas law requires that vaccine by four months of age. Outside a fence, your dog must be on a leash held by someone who can control it.

For lost and found dogs, bites that break the skin and cruelty complaints, contact Grapevine Animal Services, the city's open-admission shelter at 500 Shady Brook Drive: 817-410-3370. It is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The city's Bark Park has its own off-leash rules: current rabies, distemper and parvo shots, no puppies under six months, no more than two dogs per person and no dogs in heat. Animals are not allowed in swimming beach areas.

Grapevine's Animals in Disaster page asks you never to leave pets behind in an emergency. It suggests a kit with five days of food and water, bowls, medical records, medications, a leash and carrier, and current photos of your dog, and it warns that you may not be able to shelter together with your pet.
