Dog servicesin Keller, TX

Keller, TX shares its animal shelter with its neighbors. The city's Regional Animal Services department serves Keller, Colleyville, Roanoke, Southlake and Westlake from 330 Rufe Snow Drive, and it handles stray dogs, impounds, adoptions, barking complaints and bites. Call 817-743-4710 during field service hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After hours, an injured animal or a bite goes to non-emergency dispatch at 817-743-4522.

For off-leash play, K-9 Pointe Dog Park is the city's only dog park, beside the overflow parking of The Keller Pointe at 405 Rufe Snow Drive. It has separate large and small dog areas, with the small side for dogs 30 pounds and under. Dogs enter on a leash and wear tags showing current vaccinations, puppies under four months stay home, and each person may bring up to three dogs.

Those tags start with rabies. Texas law requires every dog to be vaccinated by four months of age, and the park is usually open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., except Wednesday mornings until noon, when it closes for maintenance. It also closes during and after bad weather until the ground dries.
