Dog servicesin North Richland Hills, TX

Lost and found dogs in North Richland Hills, TX go through North Richland Hills Animal Services, which runs the city's Animal Adoption & Rescue Center at 7301 Iron Horse Blvd. The center is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., and officers answer field calls Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 817-427-6570. After hours, report a found pet or an animal emergency to police non-emergency dispatch at 817-281-1000, and call 911 if a life is at risk.

The city is strict about what counts as restraint. Under the animal code, an invisible fence, a remote-control collar or voice commands do not count. Off your property, your dog needs a leash, chain or other physical restraint strong enough to control it. At home, it needs a solid fence or a strong chain or leash that keeps it on the property, and a dog in a vehicle counts as at large if the vehicle does not stop it from getting out or reaching people and animals.

Check your headcount, too: the city code allows no more than three dogs on the premises, and a home with three dogs may keep no more than two cats. The code also includes a multiple-pet household permit article.
