Dog servicesin Rowlett, TX

Rowlett, TX has one city dog park, and it is built for dogs of every size. Scentral Bark Dog Park, at 4601 Centennial Drive, has a separate area for dogs of 30 pounds or more and another for smaller dogs, with shade trees, benches, restrooms and drinking fountains. It is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. In every other city park, the park rules say pets stay leashed and away from playgrounds, and swimming in the lakes is not allowed.

Rowlett also requires you to license your dog with the city shelter. Bring a current rabies vaccination certificate and the fee to 4402 Industrial Street. The Animal Services FAQ lists $10 for a spayed or neutered dog or one six months old or younger, $20 for a dog that is not fixed, and no charge for residents 60 or older whose pets are spayed or neutered.

If your dog goes missing, Rowlett Animal Services takes lost-pet reports through an online form, by phone at 972-412-6219 or in person at the shelter, which is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Found dogs are posted on the city's Animal Services pages and social media. After hours, call 911 for an emergency or 972-412-6200, option 6, and the city's 24-hour Communications Center will dispatch Animal Services.
