Dog servicesin Celina, TX

Celina, TX asks a little more of dog owners than state law does. Texas requires a rabies vaccine by four months of age, but Celina's rabies rules call for vaccination at three months or older, again at one year and every year after that, with a numbered metal rabies tag on the collar or harness at all times. If you are moving in, you have 30 days to comply.

Every dog four months or older must also be registered with animal control for each January 1 through December 31 registration year, and its metal registration tag must be worn at all times. The same code limits a household to no more than three dogs and no more than three cats over six months of age. A dog impounded without a current registration tag is held three working days, and one wearing a current tag is held at least six days.

For animal problems, the city's Important Numbers page lists Collin County Animal Control at 972-547-7292, and an immediate emergency goes to 911. The city parks pages list no off-leash dog park. At Old Celina Park, 12670 FM 428, Celina Parks and Recreation allows dogs only on a leash and asks you to bring your own cleanup bags, since there are no pet-waste stations yet.
