Dog servicesin Aubrey, TX

If your dog goes missing in Aubrey, TX, move quickly. The city contracts its animal control to a private provider, and the City of Aubrey Animal Control page links to that provider's website so you can check whether your dog was picked up. You can also call animal control at 972-382-3647. Under the city's impoundment rules, an unclaimed animal can be adopted out or euthanized after five days, with the pickup day counted as day zero. A dog wearing a current ID tag is held at least six days.

At home, your dog must be restrained. The city's general animal rules count a dog as at large if it is not inside a secure enclosure or a strong enough fence behind your front building line, or off your property without a leash, cord, chain or rope. A violation is a Class C misdemeanor.

Texas law requires a rabies vaccine by four months of age, and Aubrey's rabies control rules require your dog to wear its rabies tag. If your dog bites or scratches someone, it must be reported to animal control within 24 hours, and the animal goes into a 240-hour quarantine. Aubrey does not list a city dog park yet; its 2045 comprehensive plan names a future Palomino Dog Park.
