Dog servicesin Crowley, TX

Every dog in Crowley, TX should wear two tags. The city's animal ordinance requires annual registration of all dogs and cats, and a dog may be impounded if it is running at large or is not wearing a collar or harness with a city license tag and a veterinarian-issued rabies tag. Texas law requires that rabies vaccine by four months of age. Off your property, a dog must be on a leash or chain and under the control of a capable person; at home, it needs a sturdy fence, a qualifying chain or a building.

Crowley also adds its own tether rules to state law. Under the same code, an unattended dog may not be left outside on a restraint that limits its movement between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., within 500 feet of a school or during extreme weather such as a heat advisory. A dog may not be tied to a stationary object at all: the city requires a trolley or cable-run system, and waste in the tethered area must be removed daily.

Crowley Animal Control, part of the city's Public Works Department, runs the Crowley Animal Shelter at 201 E. Main Street.
