Dog servicesin Allen, TX

Allen, TX asks every dog owner to register with the city shelter. The Allen pet registration form says all cats, dogs and ferrets living in Allen must be registered with the shelter, with payment made in person at the Allen Animal Shelter, 770 S. Allen Heights Drive. Bring your dog's rabies record, since Texas law requires that vaccine by four months of age.

The same shelter is where a lost Allen dog is most likely to turn up. City of Allen Animal Services runs it, and you can reach the office at (214) 509-4378. File the city's lost-pet report with your dog's microchip number if it has one. The form says a lost report comes down after six weeks unless the animal is found, so send a new one if your dog is still missing.

For off-leash play, the city runs The Bark Yard Dog Park at 510 S. Jupiter Road, a fenced park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Check the city's facility page for current hours and closures before you go.
