Dog servicesin Wylie, TX

Inside Wylie, TX city limits, a lost or found dog is the city's job, not the county's. Collin County Animal Services says Wylie handles both animal control and sheltering within its boundaries. Report a stray or a missing dog to Wylie Animal Services at 972-429-8047, and check the city shelter at 949 Hensley Lane, Building 100. Call ahead before you visit.

For off-leash play, the city runs Prairie Tails Dog Park at the Wylie Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Road. The city's dog park rules let dogs run free only inside the paddock, with leashes on everywhere else, including the walk between the bullpen and the paddock. Keep your dog in sight and under voice control, bring waste bags and clean up. Paddocks may close for weather and regular maintenance.

The same rules list 911 for life-threatening emergencies and Wylie Police at 972-442-8170 for non-emergencies. Texas law requires a rabies vaccine by four months of age, and the veterinarian who gives it must issue you a certificate.
