Dog servicesin Spring, TX

Spring, TX is a Census-designated place, not a city, so your dog falls under Harris County rules rather than a city code. Harris County Pets says every dog over three months old in unincorporated Harris County needs a current county license and rabies vaccination, and a dog must be microchipped before it can be licensed. Licenses come in one-year and three-year terms. The Woodlands Township's rules do not cover all of Spring, and neither do Houston's or Tomball's.

If your dog goes missing, the county shelter is the Harris County Pets Resource Center at 612 Canino Road in Houston, run by Harris County Veterinary Public Health. Call 832-927-1929. Under the county's animal control regulations, an unclaimed dog is held for three days before it is placed or otherwise handled, so check in early. Cruelty or neglect can be reported on the county's online animal cruelty form.

In Harris County Precinct 4 parks, park rules keep dogs on a leash of six feet or shorter and ask owners to pick up waste. Off-leash play is for the precinct's designated dog parks, where dogs must be at least four months old, current on vaccinations and wearing license tags, with no more than two dogs per person and no dogs in heat.
