Dog servicesin San Angelo, TX

San Angelo, TX asks a few things of every dog owner. San Angelo Animal Services says dogs over four months must be current on their rabies vaccine, and the city requires microchipping and spay or neuter, with listed exceptions. The city posts a microchip sign-up form on the same page. It also limits chaining: a dog may not be chained for more than two hours in any 24-hour period, a tighter rule than the state's.

The city's one Dog Park, at 3215 Millbrook Drive, is open sunrise to sunset daily unless it is closed for maintenance or bad weather. Dogs must be registered, vaccinated and spayed or neutered under the city code to use it. Each person may bring two dogs at most, carry a visible leash and keep the dogs under voice control. Food, treats and pinch collars stay outside, and children under 10 are not allowed in the fenced areas.

For a stray, a bite or another animal problem, call Animal Services at 325-657-4224. The shelter at 3142 US Highway 67 North is open to the public 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, the emergency line is 325-657-4315, and the city also takes reports through its online Report an Animal Violation form.
