Review guidelines

Reviews on DogServ come from dog owners who used the business. A person reads every review before it appears. We publish honest reviews whether they are good or bad.

What we publish

  • A star rating of your own experience with the business, with or without a written review in your own words.
  • Praise and complaints alike. We never hold back a review because of its rating.
  • Your first name and last initial, the month you used the business, and your rating.

What we remove or do not publish

  • Reviews from the owner, staff, relatives or competitors of the business.
  • Reviews that were paid for or rewarded in any way.
  • More than one review per person for the same business.
  • Threats, hate, personal details such as phone numbers or home addresses, and profanity aimed at a person.
  • Anything about something other than the service, such as politics or another business.

Why reviews are held

Every review waits for a person to read it, usually within 2 business days. When one business receives many reviews in a short time, we hold them all and check them, so a business cannot be flooded with fake praise or fake complaints.

Replies from the business

A business that has claimed its listing can post one public reply to each review. Replies are read by a person before they appear, under the same rules.

Reporting a review

If you think a review breaks these rules, tell us through the contact form with a link to the listing. We check it against these guidelines, not against its rating.
