Dog servicesin Missouri City, TX

Every dog over four months old in Missouri City, TX must be registered with the city and wear its registration tag on a collar or harness at all times. Missouri City Animal Services asks for a rabies vaccine every year, and registration runs alongside the rabies certificate, so apply within 30 days of each shot. The city's pet registration form also asks for proof of spay or neuter and a microchip. A dog without proof of vaccination or registration may be impounded.

Animal Services is at 1923 Scanlin Road, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 281-403-8707 to report a lost or found pet, or 281-403-8700 for an after-hours emergency. The shelter does not take owner surrenders, and city ordinance limits a household to four dogs and cats.

No park inside city limits lets dogs run off leash. In city parks, a dog must be led on a cord or chain no longer than six feet, and swimming is not allowed in any park waterway. Kitty Hollow Park falls under Fort Bend County, not the city.
