Dog servicesin Fulshear, TX

Fulshear, TX does not run its own shelter. The city sends residents to Fort Bend County Animal Services, at 1840 Richmond Parkway in Richmond, which handles lost and found pets, adoptions, bites and loose or dangerous dogs. Call 281-341-4665, and check the county's lost and found pet page if your dog goes missing.

Inside city limits, the Fulshear code says a dog may not run at large. On your own property, a dog that is not confined must be on a leash, chain, rope or cord no more than 10 feet long. In city parks, dogs must be on a harness, leash or other tether, and handlers must throw away waste right away. Chapter 6 violations can bring a fine of up to $500.

Fulshear adds its own tethering rule on top of state law. A dog may not be left outside and unattended on a restraint between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., within 500 feet of a school, or in extreme weather, which includes a heat advisory. Texas law also requires a rabies vaccine by four months of age.
