Dog servicesin Cypress, TX

Cypress, TX has no city government, so dog services come from Harris County. Harris County Public Health's Veterinary Public Health Division runs Harris County Pets, the county's open-admission animal shelter and animal-control section, at 612 Canino Road in Houston. The shelter phone is 281-999-3191. If your dog goes missing, use the county's Find a Lost Pet service on the Harris County Services Portal, contact Harris County Pets and search the county shelter system. A found stray can be reported to Harris County Pets or brought to the county shelter when it is safe and practical.

The county also runs the Harris County Pets Clinic, which offers basic low-cost veterinary services for owned pets. To report cruelty or neglect, Harris County has an online animal-cruelty form; immediate danger to people or animals should go to 911. Texas law requires a dog left on a restraint to have adequate shelter, shade and drinking water.

In Harris County Precinct 4 parks, dogs are welcome on a leash no longer than six feet unless posted otherwise, and owners must pick up waste. The nearest Precinct 4 dog parks include Congressman Bill Archer Dog Park at Bear Creek Pioneers Park, 3201 Highway 6 North in Houston, and Beverly Kaufman Dog Park at Paul D. Rushing Park, 9114 Katy Hockley Road in Katy, both open dawn to dusk. Keep your dog leashed going in and out, and where a small-dog area is marked, it is for dogs of 25 pounds or less.
