Dog servicesin Mineral Wells, TX

The city-run Mineral Wells Animal Shelter is the place to look for a lost dog in Mineral Wells, TX. Its page lets you report a lost pet or a found animal and check impounded animals. The shelter is at 101 FM 2256, open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (940) 328-7752, or use the emergency line, (940) 328-7770. Palo Pinto County also sends residents to this shelter.

Adopting from the shelter costs $50, and that includes a microchip and a rabies vaccine if the dog needs one. Every dog also needs that rabies vaccine by four months of age under Texas law.

If your dog spends time tied out, state law requires shelter, shade, clean water and a dry area away from waste, and it bans chains and restraints shorter than 10 feet or five times the dog's length, whichever is longer. Plan outings around Fossil Park: its rules say no pets allowed.
