Dog servicesin Kyle, TX

In Kyle, TX, a dog off your property has to be on a leash or tether attached to a collar or harness. Kyle's animal code treats any other dog in public as at large, and that includes a dog riding in a vehicle or an open truck bed in a public place without a restraint that keeps it from jumping out. At home, a fence counts as restraint.

The city's animal ordinance also limits tying a dog out. It bans leaving a dog tethered unattended on public property, and it generally does not allow a dog to be held by a chain, leash or tether unless a person is holding it. A dog six months or older that lives in an outdoor enclosure needs at least 150 square feet of space.

Plan walks around Lake Kyle Park: its park ordinance does not allow outside pets, except registered service animals. Every Kyle dog also needs a rabies vaccine by four months of age under Texas law. Kyle and Hays County are developing the Kyle Animal Resource Center together, and county animal control patrols outside Kyle, not inside the city.
