Dog servicesin Flower Mound, TX

Flower Mound, TX has about five acres of off-leash space at Hound Mound Dog Park, inside Heritage Park at 1200 Garden Ridge, with separate areas for small and large dogs. It is open daily from 7 a.m. to dusk and closed Wednesdays for maintenance. Puppies under four months and female dogs in heat are not allowed, and dogs stay leashed on the way in and out. In every other park, the town's park rules say pets stay on a leash and owners pick up after them.

Town leash ordinances require dogs to be restrained at all times. If yours slips out, call Flower Mound Animal Services at 972-874-6390. The Animal Adoption Center at 3950 Justin Rd. is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, and an officer is on duty 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

Outside those hours, a stray, injured, sick or loose animal goes to the police non-emergency line at 972-539-0525, answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Animal Services also handles pet registrations for the town, and Texas law requires a rabies vaccine by four months of age.
