Dog servicesin Cedar Creek, TX

Cedar Creek, TX is an unincorporated community in Bastrop County with no city government, so the county handles its dogs. Bastrop County Animal Services runs the county shelter at 589 Cool Water Drive in Bastrop, an open-intake shelter for dogs and cats in the county. To find a lost dog, call the shelter at (512) 549-5160 or visit during regular hours. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For a stray, an injured animal or a complaint, call Bastrop County Animal Control at (512) 303-7000. It works seven days a week, generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with limited after-hours and holiday response. The county's rabies and animal control order does not allow dogs to run at large, and it treats as a nuisance a dog whose waste is not picked up right away or whose noise keeps causing unreasonable annoyance. Rabies vaccination is required by four months of age.

No dog park has been identified inside Cedar Creek. The nearest public one on record is the City of Bastrop's Bastrop Bark Park at 101 Grady Tuck Lane, with separate small-dog and large-dog areas and park hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Central Texas summers are hot, and the county's emergency preparedness guidance says never to leave children or pets in a hot vehicle. It also asks you to plan for your pets if a wildfire forces an evacuation.
