Dog servicesin Beaumont, TX

In Beaumont, TX, most animal problems start with a call to 311. Beaumont Animal Care, the city's animal control department, takes 311 reports for loose and found dogs, and bites or dangerous animals can be reported 24 hours a day. A stray is held for 3 to 5 business days so its owner can reclaim it, so check the shelter at 1884 Pine Street quickly if your dog is missing. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and you can call 409-838-3304 during those hours.

A microchip is the surest way to get that call. Beaumont Animal Care scans and registers microchips for $15 per animal, and the city lists free spay and neuter vouchers for Beaumont residents. Under the city's animal code, a home may keep up to eight adult dogs and cats combined. Dogs must be on a leash anywhere outside a secure enclosure or your own property.

For off-leash play, the city's Parks and Recreation Guide lists Ida Reed Dog Park at 2348 Louisiana Avenue, with separate fenced areas for small and large dogs and agility obstacles.
