Dog servicesin Aledo, TX

If your dog gets loose in Aledo, TX, the shelter to call is in Weatherford. Weatherford Animal Services handles lost and found animals for Aledo at the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter, 403 Hickory Drive in Weatherford, at 817-598-4111. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sundays and Mondays, emergency calls go to the on-duty animal control officer.

Texas law requires every dog to have a rabies vaccine by four months of age, given by a veterinarian. If your dog stays outside on a tether while you are away, state rules on outdoor dogs call for shelter, shade, clean water and a restraint that is not a chain and is at least 10 feet long.

Aledo expects dogs to be under control and restrained in the city, and asks owners to clean up after their pets in parks and public spaces. The city lists no dog park of its own, and pets are not allowed inside the community center except for service animals.
